Transportation options are available to help you get around a little easier during the construction of the 495 Express Lanes and the Dulles Metrorail Project.  Go to Employer Solutions to find out how the Virginia Megaprojects Employer Solutions Team can work with you and your employer on teleworking, vanpooling, special incentives and other alternatives to driving alone.  Consider trying one of the options below.

Telework!VA

Work from home or from a telework center or satellite office.  Most people who telework do so one or two days a week, which can greatly reduce time spent in traffic.  Employers can get up to $50,000 to start a new telework program or expand an existing one.  Learn more at www.teleworkva.org.

Vanpooling

Vanpooling is an economical option to commuting alone, particularly if you travel a long distance. There are special incentive programs such as VanStart and VanSave that make vanpooling a smart alternative to driving solo.

Carpooling

Save time and money by sharing the ride to work. Vanpooling is an economical option to commuting alone, particularly if you travel a long distance.  For more information and free ride matching services, go to Commuter Connections.  Try NuRide where you can earn points to win rewards every time you rideshare.  If you need a car, but don't want the hassles of actually owning one, try out Zipcar.

Guaranteed Ride Home

Just in case you have to miss your carpool or bus ride home, the Guaranteed Ride Home program offers free rides in the event of an emergency.  You sign up in advance by going to Commuter Connections.
