Extended Weekend HOV Closures Continue:
This weekend, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close the reversible High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) Lanes on I-395/95 beginning Friday night and continuing throughout the day on Saturday until 10a.m. Sunday morning. The HOV lanes will be closed from the D.C. line to Dumfries, just south of Exit 152 (Route 234). On Sunday the HOV lanes will open by 10 a.m. heading north.
Closures will allow crews to work on overhead sign structures and pull fiber optics needed for future tolling equipment on the Express Lanes. Extended daytime closures will continue as needed during most weekends until Memorial Day to accommodate the final year of construction on the 29-mile Express Lanes project corridor.
