Opens as New Express Lanes Ramp in Late 2012

ALEXANDRIA— The Virginia Department of Transportation closed the left-lane high occupancy vehicles (HOV)  ramp from I-66 east to I-495 north (Capital Beltway - Inner Loop) on Friday, October 12, for construction crews to complete paving, striping and installation of roadway delineators work to reopen the ramp by the end of this year as a new dedicated 495 Express Lanes ramp.

During the ramp closure HOV-drivers to 495 north must use the right lane general purpose ramp to access I-495 north.
HOV-drivers are urged to follow highway message signs on I-66 as they approach I-495 and should expect delays in this area.
