GROUND CLEARING SCHEDULED FOR FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY EXTENSION
Activities scheduled for Rolling and Hooes Roads realignment
ALEXANDRIA—Starting Monday, Nov. 8, crews will begin clearing trees and brush along the Fairfax County Parkway in Springfield for utility relocation and upcoming work on phase III of the Fairfax County Parkway Extension. Phase III includes the realignment of Rolling and Hooes Roads and reconfiguration of the Franconia-Springfield Parkway interchange.
This clearing will occur Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., and continue until late fall or early winter:
- On both sides of Rolling Road south of the Community of Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church
- On the east side of the parkway south of Hooes Road
- Along the relocated ramp to Hooes Road to and from the Franconia-Springfield Parkway
- Between Barkers Court and the Fairfax County Parkway on the relocated Rolling Road route
The clearing process will involve installation of erosion and sediment controls. Phase III is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2012.
