I-66 EAST EXIT RAMPS TO I-495 NORTH CLOSING AT 10 P.M. NIGHTLY
Temporary full closures of I-495 north after midnight

ALEXANDRIA— Beginning Friday, Nov. 5, through Saturday, Nov. 13, I-66 east to I-495 north exit ramps will close from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. weeknights and 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. weekends for bridge demolition.  Traffic heading to I-495 north will be detoured onto I-495 south to Little River Turnpike (Route 236) to turn around on the exit ramps back to I-495 north.

Three left lanes on I-495 north will also be closed overnight in the I-66 area with temporary total closures of all lanes after midnight lasting up to 40 minutes. I-66 east motorists heading to I-495 north should expect an additional 20-minute delay before midnight and up to 40-minute stoppages after midnight when intermittent closure of all lanes are in effect.

VDOT urges motorists familiar with the area to use alternate routes. This work is part of the Capital Beltway I-495 High Occupancy Toll (HOT) Lanes Project. All work is weather permitting.

Major closures on I-495 north and south I-495 north and south will experience multiple lane closures after 9:30 p.m. near I-66 and Braddock Road. All lanes will close for up to 30 minutes after midnight.

Ramp reconfiguration: I-495 to Route 7 Motorists traveling to Route 7 westbound will need to exit off the beltway sooner as the new merge lane will be reconfigured for westbound traffic only.
