Lane on Dulles Toll Road reopens

The far left eastbound lane of Dulles Toll Road (Route 267) at I-495 has been reopened, providing congestion relief to commuters heading to the beltway.

Crews on Monday worked overnight to reopen the lane which closed earlier this year for bridge construction as part of the effort to bring High Occupancy Toll (HOT) Lanes to the Capital Beltway.

The lane was opened ahead of schedule.

When the Capital Beltway HOT Lanes open in late 2012 they will bring congestion relief to the heavily traveled section of I-495 between Springfield to just beyond Dulles Toll Road, providing commuters additional carpool options and the ability to pay a toll to avoid congestion.
