Rolling Road Reconstruction Begins June 17
Weekday lane closures necessary for upcoming road work
ALEXANDRIA, VA – Beginning Thursday, June 17, motorists on Rolling Road will experience occasional delays between the Fullerton Road intersection and Richfield Road while Virginia Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration crews reconstruct and repave a 1500-foot section of Rolling Road as part of the Fairfax County Parkway (Route 7100) project.
Weekday work - June 13 - 19, 2010
- Backlick Rd. north and south between Boudinot Dr. and Fullerton Rd. - Right lane closed Monday - Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for utility work.
- Rolling Rd. north at Fullerton Rd. - Road closed Monday - Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for sound wall and storm drain installation. Flagger to direct both north and south traffic.
- Fullerton Rd. north for 1,000 feet before Boudinot Dr. - Right lane closed Monday - Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for retaining wall installation.
All closures are weather permitting.
Through December, motorists can expect intermittent lane closures between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Mondays through Fridays, and occasionally on Saturday and Sunday nights. Visit the lane closure page for up to date closure schedules. A flagman will be on duty, and each day the lanes will be fully restored so both lanes will be open to traffic during rush hours.
