Right lane of southbound Route 123 is closed for two years

Lane closure makes way for Metrorail station construction

A two-year closure of the right lane of southbound Dolley Madison Blvd. (Route 123) near I-495 began Feb. 26, 2010. The closure is necessary to build the Tysons East Metrorail Station.

The Tysons East station will be located along the northwest side of Dolley Madison Boulevard (Route 123), between Scotts Crossing Road and Capital One Drive. This work is part of the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project.

To begin construction, the right lane of southbound Dolley Madison Blvd. will close between Scotts Crossing Road and the I-495 Capital Beltway Inner Loop for about two years. This will ensure that crews can build the station safely.

Capital One employees, vendors and visitors will still have right-turn access to the property's main entrance via a shorter right-turn lane. Both entrance ramps to the Capital Beltway will remain open.
