Expect changes at ramp from Route 123 south to Route 7 west in Tysons Corner
New exit from Route 123 diverts traffic to Frontage Road south of International Drive toward Route 7
A major shift in driving patterns has occurred at the busy intersection of Routes 7 and 123 in Tysons Corner.
Access to Route 7 west from Route 123 south is now available via a new exit from Route 123, just south of International Drive and the Marriott Courtyard hotel to Frontage Road, an existing parallel road (see map).

On Friday night, Sept. 17, the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project shut down the former ramp from southbound Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) to westbound Route 7 (Leesburg Pike).
This new traffic pattern will be in place until the end of 2010.
Note: Frontage Road will maintain two-way traffic from Pinnacle Drive to Route 7. However, all traffic traveling on Frontage Road from Route 7 will be forced to turn left at Pinnacle Drive and cannot access Route 123.Customers and tenants of businesses in Pinnacle Towers can use Pinnacle Drive or Greensboro Drive. Guests and employees of the Marriott Courtyard and Crowne Plaza hotels should use the hotel entrance from Greensboro Drive or the portion of Frontage Road accessible from International Drive.
Drivers using Route 123 should pay close attention to signage regarding the new access to westbound Route 7. Drivers who miss the new access ramp will have to continue south on Route 123 to a right turn on Old Courthouse Road, which becomes Gosnell Road and intersects with both directions of Route 7.
Last week, the ramp from westbound Route 7 to southbound Route 123 was closed and also will not reopen until the end of this year. Closing the ramps is necessary for ongoing construction of the western end of the 2,400-foot tunnel that will carry rail tracks from Route 123 to Route 7.
All work is weather permitting and subject to change. For construction-related emergencies, call the Project Hotline at 877-585-6789. For information about the project, visit www.dullesmetro.com or call 703-572-0506.
