TWO LANES OF I-95 SOUTH CLOSED THIS WEEK FROM LORTON ROAD EXIT TO ROUTE 123
VDOT striping southbound lanes
ALEXANDRIA — During the midday hours of Monday, Dec. 6, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is periodically closing two of the four lanes on I-95 south from Lorton Road (Exit 163) to Route 123 (Exit 160) for restriping.
The first lane will close at 8 a.m., followed by the second at 11 a.m. Two lanes will remain open to traffic. All lanes will reopen at 2 p.m. The striping work is temperature sensitive and must be performed during daytime hours. In the case of inclement weather, this lane closure will occur Tuesday, Dec. 7.
I-95 Widening lane closure scheduled for week of Dec. 5-11
Nighttime work - Closures occur between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. unless otherwise noted.
- I-95 south from Exit 166, Fairfax County Pkwy (Route 7100) and Exit 160, Gordon Blvd. (Route 123) - Mobile two lane closure Monday - Wednesday nights for pavement reflector installation.
- I-95 south from Exit 166, Fairfax County Pkwy (Route 7100) to the Pohick Rd. overpass - Three lanes closed Thursday night for pavement reflector installation.
Weekday work - Closures occur between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
- I-95 north between the Exit 160, Gordon Blvd. (Route 123) and one mile south of Exit 166, Fairfax County Pkwy (Route 7100) - Right lane closed Monday - Thursday for bridge work.
- I-95 south between Exit 166, Fairfax County Pkwy (Route 7100) and Exit 160, Gordon Blvd. (Route 123) - Right lane closed Monday - Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for sign mounting, and light pole installation.
- I-95 south from Exit 163, Lorton Rd. (Route 642) to Exit 160, Gordon Blvd. (Route 123) - Right lane closed Monday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for striping.
