Expect Detours and Traffic Shifts on I-495 After Labor Day

After the Labor Day Holiday, the Interstate 495 High Occupancy Toll (HOT) Lanes project will continue construction activities along the 14-mile corridor from the Springfield Interchange to just north of the Dulles Toll Road, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. Motorists should expect overnight closures, detours and traffic pattern changes along the Beltway as crews demolish and rebuild bridges.

Wakefield Park Pedestrian Bridge Reopend

Wakefield Park pedestrian bridge has been reopened. As a part of the Capital Beltway HOT Lanes project, crews will close this bridge again in September as they raise the bridge and add new access ramps.
